Marine industry applications – a tried and tested area of application

The Weicon WR is product is particularly suitable for areas where metal parts are subject to heavy wear due to friction. Likewise, used in conjunction with Weicon Ceramic BR for the coating of propeller shafts and any coatings in the engine room, rudder posts, gear boxes as well as for coating metal surfaces before or after repair.

The Weicon Ceramic BL is a liquid, brushable, filled with silicium carbide and zirconium silicate, temperature-resistant up to +180°C and resistant to chemicals. It offers extreme wear protection and high abrasion resistance. Weicon Ceramic BL is particularly suited for the lining of heavily stressed pump housings, as wear protection for slide bearings, slides, funnels and pipes, and for the repair of castings, valves and blower fans.The product can be used in machine and system construction, in apparatus engineering, and in many other industrial applications.

Gap Filling Solution

For the more general sealing tasks the Weicon Urethane 85 is the must have product. This product is a two-component polyurethanes that cures at room temperature to a tough rubber-like material. It remains flexible at temperatures down to even -60°C. This product adheres to a variety of materials such as metals, concrete, rubber, wood, fibre glass and many others. They are also suitable as flexible coatings in connection with the other Weicon Plastic Metal (epoxy) systems. Due to its low sensitivity to humidity, they can also be used for coatings in thin layers and have a remarkably high tensile and tear strength. It is an ideal solution for a multitude of regular tasks such as the sealing of rudder stocks, stabilizer bushings, seawater tanks, seawater tank lids, any rubber coatings in the engine room, sealing shaft bearings, stern tubes and also any sealings on the underwater hull of a ship.
