L8 Legionella Kit

£0.00 In Stock Sold out

Introducing a convenient temperature measurement kit for assessing water systems to prevent conditions conducive to growth of Legionella bacteria.

The kit features the KEW301 thermometer with two channels, equipped with surface and liquid probes. All components are neatly organised in a sturdy kit bag, with designated compartments to separate the instrument from the probes.

While Legionella bacteria are typically harmless in natural freshwater environments, they can pose a serious threat when present in industrial cooling systems, cooling towers, and air conditioning units, potentially leading to the development of Legionnaires disease—a potentially fatal illness affecting around 500 individuals in the UK annually.

Legionella bacteria thrive in temperatures between 20°C and 45°C, remaining dormant below 20°C and unable to survive above 60°C. Therefore, it is crucial to regularly inspect water systems to prevent the creation of environments where Legionella can flourish.
