Experience the versatility of the Thermapen IR, a compact unit that combines the advanced technology of two ETI-designed and manufactured instruments: the RayTemp 2 Plus infrared thermometer and the Thermapen 4 digital probe thermometer.
Encased in a sturdy ABS case with 'Biomaster' additive to reduce bacterial growth, the Thermapen IR features a motion-sensing sleep mode for the penetration probe, automatically turning the instrument on/off when set down or picked up to maximize battery life. To use the infrared thermometer, simply aim it at the target and press the scan button to display the surface temperature.
Please note that the infrared non-contact function only operates when the probe is in the closed position. The Thermapen IR thermometer also includes a max/min temperature function accessed via the mode button (IR only), with a distance-to-target ratio of 5:1, requiring the thermometer to be positioned as close to the target as possible.
The default emissivity is 0.95 but can be adjusted between 0.1 and 1.0 if needed, accessible via the mode button. Alternatively, you can measure liquid or semi-solid product temperatures using the reduced tip, stainless steel penetration probe (Ø3.3 x 110 mm).
