The Thermapen IR Air offers a dual functionality, combining the technological prowess of two ETI-designed and manufactured instruments—the RayTemp 2 Plus infrared thermometer and the Thermapen digital air probe thermometer. The air probe, known for its swift response, is a valuable asset in swiftly determining the correct air temperature in HVAC, laboratory applications, and other temperature-sensitive workspaces.
Encased in a sturdy ABS case with Polygiene BioMaster product protection to mitigate bacterial growth, the Thermapen IR Air introduces a motion-sensing sleep mode (air probe only). This feature automatically turns the instrument on/off when set down or picked up, extending battery life.
For surface temperature readings, simply point the infrared thermometer at the target and press the scan button. Note that the infrared non-contact function operates only when the probe is in the closed position. The Thermapen IR Air thermometer incorporates a max/min temperature function, accessible via the mode button (IR only). With a distance-to-target ratio of 5:1, it is essential to position the thermometer as close to the target as possible. The default emissivity is 0.95 but can be adjusted between 0.1 and 1.0 if needed, accessible via the mode button.
Designed for HVAC, laboratory applications, and other temperature-sensitive workspaces, the fast response air probe seamlessly folds back through 180° into the side of the instrument when not in use.
