Norwegian Cruise Line Refuses to Transport EVs, Hybrids Due to Fire Concerns

Lithium fires are no joke; one on an enclosed vessel could prove disastrous.

One of the things that have become increasingly apparent with the rise of electric cars is that when they catch on fire, those fires are challenging to extinguish. This is true of fully equipped fire crews on dry land, but imagine if one of those fires happened inside a ship at sea.

It's not hard to imagine because it happened to the Felicity Ace cargo ship last year. The good thing was that being a cargo ship, the number of crew on board was relatively minimal.

What if it happened on a cruise ship?
